  1. Hola!
We are parents to lovely Ali Bonner, and her hubby Ian is one of our favorite people. Ali referred us to your blog, which we read from beginning to end.

From your first post, we could tell you are a wonderful writer…keen insight about yourself and your faith and all that. Is this your first trip to a third world country? We have seen folks come back changed forever in their spirits.

Thanks for the work you are doing. And for any days ahead when you feel discouraged, just know that some of us weak kneed Lenten followers are thinking of you and appreciating all you are doing to help make the world a better place, even if it is just to give your shirt to a new soul entering the world in darkness…

If you give some sort of talk about your expeiences when you come back, we would love to hear about it all!

    Char and Tim
P.S. Have you read any Anne Lamott? You would love her style…it is very much like yours.

Lamott? You’re putting my writing in the same zip code as Annie Lamott? What are you trying to do, make me think I’m actually good at this stuff? Next thing you know, I’ll be unemployed and hacking out prose and verse over a wobbly coffee table while my kids go hungry and threadbare…thinking I’ve found my true calling (apparently that’s how we ended up with Communist Manifesto).

I’m flattered by the comparison. Best compliment on this blog.

Wouldn’t trust that Ian character, however. He’s shifty, that one. Ye be warned!

Yeah, coulda used that shirt…I only brought 3. Actually, it wasn’t much of a problem for me, but I can’t speak for all the poor souls around me those 2 weeks.

      Nice to cyber-meet you!
